Q: childrens asthma treatment?
does a vaporizer with Vick's help asthma?i think a moist mist would be better. i have a granddaughter that might have asthma after taking the inhaled flu vaccine
A: If your granddaughter had a breathing problem after receiving the inhaled flu vaccine - she really should be evaluated by a doctor!
A vaporizer with Vicks can help with asthma - a vaporizer does dispense a moist mist.
I don't understand what y ou mean by a moist mist.
But , if your granddaughter has a breathing problem, she should be seen by a physician.
Q: how long does asthma treatment last?
A: Depends on the severity of the episode. There is no cure for asthma but if you keep on top of it, it can be controlled. Sometimes I have periods that last for weeks and then I have no episodes for quite awhile.
Q: my cat was diagnosed with asthma. Steroid treatment for 6 months?
My cat could not breathe this morning, so I took her to the vet who ruled out other possible diseases. he gave her a shot of steroid and albuterol, and he just called me back (she stayed at the vet) and she is breathing normally again and purring :-)
He mentioned a 6-month treatment with steroid. I have asthma myself, but my steroid treatment only lasted for a week.
Anyone with an asthmatic cat?
any advise?
Thank you
ps: I do trust my vet, but I want to have some opinions from people who live with an asthmatic cat. Do you have a daily treatment or do you give albuterol when your cat has an attack?
thank you
the chest film showed it was a very bad asthma attack. so we will keep that for our record.
I cannot "let that poor thing be"!!! I am myself asthmatic, I cannot ignore my cat's asthma, and let her die or live a half -life because she can't breathe properly?!
A: My severely asthmatic cat is on albuterol and flovent BID. (He gets an additional puff of albuterol during an attack, as needed.) He is also on oral pred for IBD.
I've provided some links that should help you.
Q: is there a treatment for asthma?
i have mile asthma how can i get treated how to use an inhalater i'm an asthmatic person.
A: First off I will say that a family doctor should not treat asthma. It is much better managed with a pulmonologist (lung specialist). They can do proper test and get a treatment regimin for you to manage your symptoms better. You may end up on an antiashtmatic medication, a steroid, and rescue inhaler (albuterol, xopenex).
If you get shaky from albuterol, good news.. xopenex has now come out with an inaler.
Find out what triggers the attacks, be sure to tell the doctor.
Q: name one anti-inflammatory used in asthma treatment?
A: Becotide...;
Q: Over-the-counter treatment for Asthma?
Hi!
I have asthma, and a problem--I've been weezing and short of breath since last night, and ran out of my albuterol. I'm currently in a different state than my doctor and can't refill my subscription.
Do any of you know of an over-the-counter treatment for Asthma that might help? It's not a full on attack, just shortness of breath and a little weezing...
A: OTC asthma inhalers are either very short lasting (a few minutes) or too low a dose to be affective..
Those prescribed inhalers are better.. Go consult a GP and get a new prescription from him..
Q: what is asthma treatment?
A: I can offer only a broad opinion/answer to a broad question.
Asthma is usually treated with steroids (typically inhaled or orally).
An example of an inhaler prescription is Albuterol.
An example of an oral prescription is Singulair.
Depending upon the severity of the inflammation, sometimes combinations of medications are used.
Q: Witch is best treatment for our 3yr old daughter suffering from Asthma?
Please send full details
A: Go to the doctor and get an inhaler and other breathing meds. duh.
A dehumidifier also may help her breath better at nighttime.
Test her for allergies because those will definitely make her asthma act up. Get meds if you need it.
Make sure breathing passages are opened at all times... no mucus in throat (post nasal drip) or constant runny nose-- get rX nose sprays if so.

Q: Would this treatment help my mom's asthma?
My mom was recently diagnosed with bronchitis induced asthma... She has found ways to cough up the stuff that keeps her from breathing. However, with the weather changing and it getting colder, she is coughing a whole lot more and not been able to breath as easily. She found a product online that got really good reviews. She is going to try this treatment first but if it does not work my Grandma suggested she drink rose water (water you've soaked rose petals in...). She is really wanting to go with a natural alternative. Has anybody ever heard of/tried this treatment with asthma? Does it help? Thanks in advance!
A: Here are some natural therapies for asthma. The one I find most interesting is the suggestion that asthmatics do some exercise before bedtime to help nighttime breathingl
http://www.natural-homeremedies.org/blog/natural-cures-for-asthma/
Apparently, rose water is a traditional herbal treatment (not remedy) for asthma in the Middle East and India. I found an inexpensive bottled product which is available in UK drugstores and thought you might like to see it:

I would urge you and your mom to be very cautious about ordering other sorts of asthma remedies online without checking with her doctor. I see no problem that would arise from using something like rose water, unless she is allergic to roses.
Q: Is there any permanent cure treatment for Asthma for a child aged 11 years who is suffering from Asthma.?
He was suffering from Asthma since childhood and the Doctor treated him said that it may go off when he turns adulthood. But now the Doctor says he is a prospective candidate for Adult Asthma and require lifelong treatment. Any permanent cure for it
A: I've had asthma most of my life. Sometimes it's better than others. What I've learned from everything I've been through is that asthma is never "cured". If you have allergies that are behind your attacks then you can take allergy shots and get better at dealing with the allergies, but you still have asthma and there might be something else that comes along in your life that can trigger an attack.
In my case things are triggered by cigarette smoke and mold, especially when it's really rainy in the spring and fall. I can't even go hug my grandma who smokes like a fiend without getting wheezy. She thinks it's OK to "go over there" to smoke when we go out as a family. But I'm still breathing the same air. I also can't help the molds that grow outside in the spring and fall...unless I move to Arizona or something.
But then again, I know what will trigger my attacks and I'm old enough to avoid a lot of the triggers. It may not ever be cured, but it will be under control. Asmanex is my friend and the whole "smoke-free" push in society is helping me more than anything else. I'm sure your son will grow up to understand his condition and know how to control it.

Q: treatment for asthma?
i would like to know what works for other asthma sufferers...as far as natural treatments.
i take evening primrose and fishoil and it seems to work .....i am trying to get off Advair.........i will always have albuteral as a quick fix.........but i would like to havesome natural long term remedies
A: As far as natural treatment is concerned, there can be nothing better than Yoga for any ailment. If it is possible for you to discuss your problem with a good Yoga instructor, you might arrive at a long term solution. Do also keep in mind that there are a number of instructors, who claim to be experts!
Cheers!
