Q: What are the usual symptoms of allergies against certain people?
A: How can you have allergies against certain people, you may not like them for a variety of reasons, but can't see anyone being allergic to another person.
Q: If your cat has/had allergies what kind of symptoms did they have?
What are they allergic to? Are they on medicine or did you just change food?
My kitty seems to scratch and groom a lot and sneezes much more than his brother. I'm wondering if he's got allergies.
A: take the cat to the vet and get it checked out I have a cat that has mild allergies.
Q: Can bird allergies cause digestive symptoms like burping and bloating?
Can they?
A: Do you mean that you are allergic to bird meat, or that you have a problem from being around birds? I am allergic to poultry. It causes stinky burps and severe diarrhea for three days. I don't think just being around birds would cause stomach upset.
Q: what are symptoms of allergies or severe allergies?
just please write what allergies are and what are the symptoms and how can they be treated if you are 13. Please and Thank you.
and what they can be caused by,thanks
also can 13 years old have severe allergies
A: Long term reliance isn't something that can be prevented. If your allergies are severe enough such as mine or my brothers the only thing that can help are Rx medicines. Benedry is an over-the-counter drug you can use this when symtoms occaur and they usually go away within an hour but, do not exceed the limit on the bottle follow the lables. If you take an over-the-counter allergy medicine and it does not help you need to talk with a doctor, the best thing at that point would be an allergy Rx. The two most commonly perscribed allergy medicines are loratadine (generic claritan) and singular. Both come in forms that are safe for younger teens and children.
Q: What do you do to help with the relief of symptoms associated with allergies?
I have horrible allergies...My eyes/forehead itch, my ears are just pounding, I keep sneezing, have a headache, can hardly keep my eyes open and have a horrible sore throat. Im nursing my daughter so I cant take a load of medication, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas maybe home remedies..im miserable!
A: Manny: The key to controlling allergies is reducing your exposure to the things to which you are allergic. Have you been tested to find out what substances cause you an allergic reaction? If so, then your doctor should have counseled you on the proper avoidance techniques. For example, if you are allergic to pollen you stay inside and keep doors and windows closed. You keep pets inside too cause they carry pollen on their fur. If you are outside then as soon as you come in you shower, wash your hair, and change clothes. If you are allergic to dust mites then you encase your mattresses in special covers and wash in this de-mite stuff. I am sorry you are miserable and you might think of going to the doctor. The headache and sore throat are NOT symptoms of allergy but sounds like you might be catching a cold. I'm going to give you some links to read about allergies, an article that helps you tell the difference between a cold and allergies, and a link to that de-mite stuff that you wash with. If you are interested, I also found a great little booklet that talks about living with allergies that you can download for free. I'll give you that link too because it talks about all kinds of allergies.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Q: What are symptoms of food allergies?
My lips have been extremely dry and chapped for the last week. They have often felt raw and dry when I wake up even if I put vasoline on at night. This morning they were swollen. I have been using the medicated chapstick and I thought it was working until this morning. Is this is a symptom of a food allergy? Should I see a doctor?
A: It could be a reaction. Call your doctor about it. Whenever I'd eat bananas my tongue would swell. Since I stopped eating them I don't have that problem anymore. Good luck!
Q: What is the difference between the symptoms of allergies and the common cold? ~~~~~easy 10 pts?
A: I'm not sure about all the symptoms, but here are the differences I notice:
Cold: sore throat
Allergies: itchy throat
Cold: coughing up flem
Allergies: no coughing
Cold: fever
Allergies: no fever
Cold: eyes are fine
Allergies: watery/itchy eyes
Cold: bodily aches
Allergies: body's fine
(not sure if this next one is common, or just me)
Cold: ears are fine
Allergies: ears are itchy inside
Q: My IgE level is 806 IU/ml, but I do not have any symptoms of allergies. Is this a high level?
My allergy test said I am allergic to wheat, rice, milk, soybean and peanuts. It is hard to avoid these substances.
I am wondering if I should bother avoiding them because I have no "usual" symptoms. Maybe tiredness and occasional spots.
Do you think that my IgE level is high and if I don't avoid these substances it could get worse? My allergist doesn't think so, but I am slightly concerned about the levels.
A: Hi, good question.
Yes, this is a high level. The top end of the normal range is about 120, depending on which laboratory you ask.
The most common link is with allergy, though parasitic infections, alcoholism and some genetic diseases (plus many other things) can raise your IgE level.
You should try and avoid things you are allergic to as reactions can worsen over time. However, having a high level of IgE, in itself, is not a dangerous thing.
Hope this helps,
Supe
Q: What is a good way to reduce symptoms of pollen allergies?
Another reason to fear the warm summer day. If you have suggestions other than constantly taking acetominophen pills, that would be prime.
A: You need to do a couple things. First- stay away from acetaminophen pills unless you have a headache or a fever. Secondly- get an over-the-counter antihistamine like Claritin, Alavert, or Benadryl. These will stop the symptoms for the most part. Lastly- be sure to end your day after being out in the world by showering AND washing your hair. This will get rid of pollen that has deposited itself on your body. When you start doing this, be sure you are getting into bed on clean sheets (wouldn't make much sense to put a clean body on dirty sheets with pollen on them!!!). If this doesn't work, check with your doc!!!
Q: What are some symptoms of milk allergies in 4 year olds?
My 4 year old grandson is going to be tested for ADD on the 21st of June. My grandson and his dad (which is our son) live with us. I have been trying to pay close attention to what he eats and what might "trigger" some of his behavior. I have noted that he wakes up quite happy, but after the first glass of milk, his behavior gets quite aggressive and erratic. This is not every time, but most of the time. He does not complain of his tummy hurting or any other physical pain, so I'm sort of at a loss. Just wondering if this might be a milk allergy or if anyone has advice. Thanks!!
A: If your grandson is diagnosed with ADD, you can help him by avoiding the foods and substances (in foods) that may trigger unwanted behavior.
You can figure out these "trigger foods" through a trial elimination diet. Ask the doctor to recommend you to a nutritionist who can guide you about these foods.
There's been some research that show children with ADHD most commonly had allergic reactions to milk and milk products (cheese, yogurt, etc), corn, wheat, soy, and eggs.
Q: What are the symptoms of milk allergies?
How do you know if you are lactose intolerant?
A: upset stomach is one symptom
Q: what are the symptoms of allergies to guinnea pigs?
my daughter is coughing all the time at home away from home doesnt matter. Asthma test was pretty negative.
A: why are you asking in birds a guinnea pig is not a bird and you might get more answer if you ask in the right topic. well if she is doing it at home and away i think it might be safe to say it isnt the pet.
Q: Are there any known symptoms or allergies for males caused by vaginal fluids/eating out a girl?
My friend ate out his girlfriend and had symptoms such increased heart rate, vomiting, and shaking. This happened multiple times so please disclose any info. immediately
A: I don't think your friend is allergic to vaginal fluids. As for the vomiting, there's a good chance he just doesn't care for what he's tasting. The heart rate, I wouldn't worry about. Your heart rate is supposed to go crazy during sex. You didn't mention your friend's age. When you're younger, it's worse, because the act is so new, and exciting. That could account for the shaking, as well. I would tell your friend to stick to manual stimulation ( fingering ) for foreplay, or consider buying some toys.
Q: Could nearsightedness trigger allergic like symptoms or start allergies you never had?
A: No. Nearsightedness has NOTHING to do with allergies.
Allergies are a reaction from your immune system. The immune system mistakes the protein of an object as something that needs to be attacked. It releases hystymine and causes symptoms of allergies.
